Short answerU.S. Mortgage Index organizes official and public mortgage information for research and verification. Factual public-source records are not ranked, recommended, or removed because someone pays.

01Purpose

Purpose

USMI organizes official and public mortgage information so a reader can research and verify an institution. U.S. Mortgage Index is operated by US Mortgage Index LLC.

02Sources

Source hierarchy

Identity and licensing fields prefer regulator and official public sources such as NMLS, FDIC, OCC, and related registries. Activity and complaint fields keep their own source scope and observation dates. The methodology and sources pages are the working statements of that hierarchy.
